Patch work repairs

The network service provider I use for to searching the web is not the problem, however like most other service providers in South Africa, they have to use Telkom's infrastructure.

For over two years now I have been having endless problems with Telkom and their patch work solutions
The db on my land-line is quite high, sitting at about 73db.

I log a complaint regarding this issue. I am told I am at a distance of more than 5 km from the nearest Telkom station which means my line will have a lot of noise on it. Their solutions to this is by simply dropping my line to a slower speed. I am paying my service provider for a certain speed and Telkom continues to drop my internet speed as their solution to the the problem.

Each Time I log the complaint, they insist on coming into my house to see if the problem is at my end, which I know it is not

I have also been told by many of the technicians who have wondered through my house, making no difference to the problem, that Telkom will be up-grading the infrastructure in my area. They have been telling me this for two years now.

Telkom need to stop dropping my line speed and fix their side of their infrastructure.
