Contract with Telkom Mobile worst mistake ever!

I took out a new contract with Telkom Mobile in the beginning of January because it seemed so good on paper. I now have serious regrets about it because in the 2 weeks that I have had the contract, they have not been able to port my old number to the new contract. To make matters worse, the service agents blame the back office and vice versa and meanwhile me (the client) is without a phone. My number has been inactive for the last week due to them supposedly being busy porting it to the contract.

I have had major problems because nobody can contact me, my clients are irate my family could not locate me during a major emergency and the list goes on. And all I keep on hearing from Hellkom is that they are working on it but nobody takes accountability or gives me a straight answer.

If they are not able to port a number (a process I thought very straight forward and easy to achieve for all the other networks) tell me and I will gladly take my business elsewhere. Problem is now they don't want to cancel my contract and I am stuck with this incompetence for another 2 years! I seriously despair and feel very helpless at the moment.
