I have been trying to get an itemized bill from MTN for 10 WEEKS.
In the first 5 months of my contract (R99-2 GB) I built up 4 GB of unused data. Yet in the 6th month all my data disappeared and I was billed an extra R583.03 VAT. In the 7th month I was billed an extra R1579. The 8th month R168.99 VAT.
All I want from MTN is to have the opportunity to check where my data (money) went. I don't download movies.
I have phoned the call centre twice and been to the Century City store 4 times. They wrote emails and spoke to call centre agents as well. When I threatened to stop the debit order on 1 December I was told I could get a bad credit record.
I received an email from a person in charge at the call centre that is incomplete, only giving me the extra data usage I have to pay for and not my "free" GB. I wrote back to this person 6 days ago and he has not responded yet.
MTN takes the money, but as a technology based company are/have not been able to give me details of where my money went. Is this the service they give to anyone exceeding their "free" gigs.
Where has my data gone/?
