I signed up for a 2 gig top up contract at R109 per month at the Sandton City Store.
My first and second bill was for a subscription of R149 minus R10. Tried to log a query with call centre after the 13th of December 2013 and was constantly directed to the store.
Opened a query with the store on the 18th of December 2013 and to date nothing.
I have subsequently requested an immediate cancellation as what I am being billed for is not what I signed up for. Even that is a mission. I am being told about cancellation charges on a SIM only contract. I honestly do not understand. I signed up for a contract showing R109 and all my documentation shows this. Who is in the wrong here?
What happened to the consumer act? Do the MTN terms and conditions override this piece of legislation?
Another issue I have is, how can MTN have different subscription amounts for the same tariff code/contract on any specific date? What for?
