On the 11th of January 2014 i went online to check my vodacom statement. this is something i hardly do. i migrated to bigger contracts in December and was interested to see how it would affect my monthly payment. I have 3 different contracts on one statement. when i checked my one cellphone account i saw that they charge me R60 extra for the handset. when i phoned vodacom the lady said that i have been paying the R60 for the last 3 months and she cant help me. i asked to speak to her supervisor who also told me the same thing. apparently it does happen that you can pay extra for a handset and they do advertise it like that on the internet. immediately afterwards i went to check on their website and i couldnt find an add where it shows you have to pay extra for the handset. i always assumed that the handset you choose is included in the contract that you take out. i find it unacceptable that you have to pay extra for a handset. if this is the case vodacom will not see me again after my contract has ran its course. the fact that they also need you to fax your id to request your details is of no use to me. what is the use of an on-line service then.
