Reporting Lost Phone and Sim Card

Service from MTN absolutely stinks!!! We have been trying for three days to make contact with them. You hold on for and average of 20 mins listening to their adverts and music. My husbands phone was lost - so we received a new SIM. We need to blacklist his old phone. This is an impossible to task to achieve. He left a message with a call centre agent - she took down his details and said someone will call back. Well it has been half day that has gone by and still no response. and a total of three days gone by and still cannot use his new SIM or phone. So how do you use the free help number when the SIM does not work. I just wish that there are more network providers available in this country so that the competition is stronger and ups the service level.
