Waiting almost two weeks for SIM activation

I recently got a new iPhone that required me to change to a micro SIM card. I got the phone on the 17th of December and was told to call MTN direct to activate my new SIM card. I called the number all week and was told that the activation process has started every time after putting in my ID and Sim Card number (2164409692). Its now the 28th and its still not activated.

Called 808 and they also said the card has not been activated despite me calling the number several times (I was then told to go into the store). I went into the MTN store and they wanted to charge me R136 to do the swap if I didn't use the MTN direct number (Which did not work in the first place). Also tried MTN services on twitter and they said they would look into it. Its been 4 days since I heard anything. I understand its the holiday season but for something that's supposed to be done in 24 hours, waiting almost two weeks is ridiculous in my opinion.
