ADSL Contract

I received a telephone call on a Friday night approximately 2 months ago. This was a call centre call informing me about ADSL. The monthly cost stated was R139.00. However, a contract was not signed by myself neither did I collect a modem.

On receiving the first telephone account thereafter I was dumb founded to note that I had been charged for a service I did not consent or utilise. I immediately contacted Telkom to complain and inform them that I had never used the ADSL line nor had I collected a modem. Assurance was given that the matter would be investigated and someone would contact me immediately. Two weeks later I received a call from Telkom and in no uncertain terms I demanded this so called contract be cancelled immediately. This was to be effective 19 November 2013. I have received a Telkom account totalling to R1549.60, the description ADSL term contract R1386.17 and contract foreiture R1368.17. The ADSL line has never been utilised.

Please investigate.
