Upgrading of contract
I had an upgrade on my contract that contains 3 separate phones on the 14-11-2013 with Smart L/XL with 2gb data bundles. On the 17-11-2013 the phones were blocked. Every week since then the phones are blocked not able to make or receive phone calls. Every week I contact them telephonically and via email, but nothing gets corrected. Then I get slammed with a R7400 bill. I make the effort to spend a whole morning at their office West rand to get their incorrect captured data fixed. Today the phones are blocked again. I've been with them since 1999 and every 2 yr upgrade, it is something new that cause hassles. Consumer protection act does not apply to them as they refuse to take back the handsets and cancel the contract, but want to keep me liable even though my first complaint was raised 3 days after the upgrade. Must customers always resort to the ombudsman or lawyers to get this sorted.
