I applied for a contract with Cell C after being unhappy with their competition (been with them for past 6 years). I wanted to port back my number and continue using it (084...) for business continuity. The application was approved and i was told to first make sure that my number was prepaid for porting to be possible. Based on this I cancelled my contract with Cell C's competitor which had a waiting period of about a month as it was coming to expiry. After the conversion to prepaid, i went back to Cell C Alberton, where I had made my first "approved" application and they duly retrieved my forms. After checking with the Consultant desk, the attendant told me that they can only give me a contract for a max of R350 only, no reasons given. My application was for a Note 3 Straight up 400 which was going to cost me R629. I still can not understand why my application was approved for straight up 400 with Note 3 and then limited to R350 when I had just done what Cell C asked me to do - which is cancel my current contract to use the same number.
