How does one cancel a contract that is ending

I have contacted the above phone no to cancel my contract which ends on the 18th February 2013.When phoning, the "voice" asks for the cell phone no and then when pressing as no 2 as advised I now have renewed my contract instead of speaking to someone to cancel it. Previously I have gone into the Autopage branch at Northgate and they advised me I must cancel by email. So I am now at sixes and sevens as to how to end my contract.
