CHASED BY DEBT COLLECTORS FOR A CLOSED ACC

Telkom store in Centurion's negligence caused a account to be opened in my name in June. At that time I was unemployed but the application was approved. Employement was never confirmed which lead to me having an account opene by. I requested Telkom to close the account which was done in Jul/Aug. The letter of the cancellation/termination was sent to me and i was please4d. However Dec i get the debit order from my bank acc of R1500 from the debt collectors, Nu debt management. If the account was closed why did Telkom keep the records open until it is taken by debt collectors? What kind of a BIG company is this that does not have a department that checks on all closed account and remove the client details from the system? This means the account was cancelled by one person but not sent to another to complete the transcation and removed it off the system. I have registered my ID with prevention due to the store 's negligence in not doing proper checks before opening new accounts. I have never had a debt collecter on my tail but thanks to Telkom now am followed by them Telkom Mobile. They need to sort this ASAP before I take legal action against them on this closed ac
