"its our system not me"

On the 4th of decemeber i paid an outstanding balance on my 3g dongle contract.
i visited the mtn dealership in pavilion and the assitant advised me i owed a sum of R850. i paid the amount. i also verified this amount with my MTN ISP dealer who does corporate deals with my company. i was applying for a contract and it got rejected as there is still a balance owing. I paid the oustanding balance and another one came up/ where did it come from? was the query for oustanding balance not accurate? i called the MTN call centre on the 6th and the person who answered who did not give me a name clearly advised me "its the system not me"
if this was human or system error that can be understandle, but incorrect billing and amounts should be diligent as this compromises my benifits and taking advantage of MTN speacial offers. I need a contract urgently becuase my current phone is not working properly and my company relies on commincation within thier staff. i did wait for the payment to reflect which it did but still shows an outstanding balance which i soecifically asked, "how munch do i need to pay".
