On contract but asks me to buy airtime

Today we spent 3 hours in Vodacom Alberton. I am a new client and took a contract my husband upgraded to a Red VIP package which costs R2000 a month. Neither of us are able to make calls as my phone tells me to load airtime - why if a contract? And my husband despite an upgrade has no signal on new phone but they were very quick to cut old phone off! We phoned the helpline and were told (before they even looked at our accounts) that if the branch made a mistake we have to go back to the branch - so willing to help hahaha! So both of us stuck without phones and we must go back to the branch. I just cancelled my Cel c contract - mistake maybe? Now we are told we must wait 24 hours to get signal why didn't Kevin tell us this. I don't like big promises why don't you under promise and over deliver? My husband was told that in 2 to 4 hours his old sim would cut off and yes it did but why do you cut off the old phone when the new sim hasn't activated yet and a businessman now has to go 24 hours without a phone? Quick to make a sale but do you actually care about an individual? Why weren't we told? Very disappointed new client and is this is how you treat so called VIP clients?
