I applied for an ADSL line and was told to pick up my modem from the nearest Telkom Agency (in my case Bluff, Durban). I went to the office and was told that they had no stock. the salesperson took my name and promised to call as soon as new stock arrived. This did not happen. Another person from Telkom called to do a survey on Telkom's service, and when advised that we had not yet received the modem, promised to have one delivered to our home within three days. This did not happen. After numerous phone calls I eventually got the name of Gugu Mala, the Area Manager. I called her and she promised to look into the matter and call me back within 10 minutes. Imagine my surprise when she called me back, as promised, and informed me that she would be personally coming to my place of work to drop off a modem. Within 30 minutes she arrived and delivered as promised. She also called me the following day to enquire if my internet service was working. WOW, my faith in Telkom is restored.
