On 14 November 2013 I purchased a 24 hour data bundle through the Mtn loylty points. I started watching alot of youtube videos after i received a message stating that I have bought the bundle and my points have been reduced. I watched alot of videos which I would never have done if I kew that I was going to be charged. The bundle provides the user with free internet for 24 hours. A week later i saw my balance due was R5500. I started complaining to the mtn call centre about the bill and a billing complaint was opened. I received an email today (with no telephone communication to explain the events) stating that they will give me 150mb discsount on my bill (the data amounted to over 2 gig).
I do not accept this letter and want to complaint about this matter. They are abusing the CPA and luckilly for me i know my rights. They did not inform me at anytime that the bundle must first be activated by dialing a certain number and that goes against the CPA as i was not fully informed at all.
Please help me. I refuse to pay R5500 to MTN.
