Telkom
80 Year old sent from pillar to post

At the age of 80 you'd expect more from Telkom. My dad has very limited mobility!

About a month ago my parent's phone was reported for no service.
About 2 weeks later I happened to be visiting them when they received an SMS indicating that it had been restored.
This was blatantly incorrect, and we again reported it via the website.
924CT Z211113 was the ref.
Two weeks later and desperate, I went to the Telkom store in Mall @ Reds. I was advised that a WCDMA phone would be the only solution. Despite a substantial increase in line rental and a 24 month contract my dad agreed. This branch also indicated that he could KEEP HIS EXISTING NUMBER
He was advised to visit the Brits branch (closest to him). On Saturday the 30th November (month end week end) he set out to Brits. This branch had been closed down. Then he drove to Wonder Park. That branch was off line due to water damage. He then drove to Kolonade. That branch took his application and told him that he could NOT KEEP HIS NUMBER. They advised that the unit would be prepared and available for collection in 48 hours.

PLEASE HELP!
