I noted that our internet had gone down so I called Telkom and waited a full 30 minutes on the phone. The call centre operator told me to go to our office where the internet modem was. I went to our office and was on the phone for another 40 minutes and the call centre operator told me there was no connection from Telkom to our modem. She said she would log a call for a technician to come out. I told her it was very urgent because of the nature of our business and she logged it as such. This was at 15:30. Up until now nobody has been dispatched and we are now sitting with a situation where our clients cannot reach us. I had no idea that our calls were also not going through. It rings on the side of the caller, but nothing at our office. We run the risk of losing clients and I have logged another call and escalated this to the complaints department, but what do we do from here. I have tried to have our phone diverted to one of our other lines, but with no luck. Our clients may experience life and death situations if they cannot reach us, but Telkom takes their own time!!! Can this be attended to like as in URGENT!
