I went to the Kenilworth Branch of Telkom Mobile to enquire about their Rates, with a view to Porting. I was given a Pamphlet which in BOLD advertised calls at 95cents per min to all carriers anytime. I was also told that whatever Rand Value I purchase, I would receive "double" eg buy R5 Airtime, get R10 airtime.
What he did not disclose was that I would be charged R1.90 per min which I found out when my money went down at a rate of knots and that half the Airtime expires within a few days. The Terms and conditions are at the bottom of the page but I had to read that with a magnifying glass when I got home. The pages with the Terms and conditions which I signed would have taken me an hour to read, and I was not given a copy. Only the "good"parts were explained but all the "pitfalls" were omitted. Very disappointed and will be Porting after the mandatory 60 days. Their Mobile Dept is just as corrupt as the Fixed Line Dept. BEWARE!!!
