My Telkom ADSL line has been problematic, so I decided to switch over to Telkom Mobile (who have been excellent, I must say).
Prior to signing the Telkom Mobile LTE contract, I called 10210 to check the notice period for cancelling ADSL subscription, since I don't want to be paying for two contracts simultaneously. I spoke to Paul Khabo on 16 November at 09h45, who confirmed that there is NO NOTICE PERIOD to cancel the ADSL subscription, and that I would receive a pro-rata rebate for unused services.
This being the case, I signed the contract with Telkom Mobile.
I waited a week to ensure that the new LTE service was effective, and then decided to cancel the ADSL subscription. I spoke to Buyi Nsibanyoni on 23 November at 12h15, who then informed me that there is a 30 day notice period to cancel ADSL. A complete conflict to the information provided by Paul Khabo.
Buyi agreed to escalate my call to the Operations Manager, Nancy Mathebula, and confirmed that I would receive a call on Monday 25 November to resolve this matter. Suffice to say, as of 16h30 on 26 November I have still not heard anything from Telkom, despite my efforts to reach them today.
Come on Telkom!!!
