Good day, I had a vodacom contract 4 years ago, the contract was terminated because my debit order bounced at that time, and that was beginning of 2011. This year in May I received a letter to say that I owe Vodacom R1200, and that I am blacklisted and my account has been handed over. I got so frustrated, phoned vodacom to find out what happened. I was told that the cell number in question is now for a company cellphone, and that there is no record of me ever having a contract with them. I then phone the company I was blacklisted with, and they also have no information, but every second month I get a letter and a call to say I must pay, but no one knows where that amount comes from, either Vodacom or Lawyers. Vodacom has never ever for the past two years tried to get hold of me to advise of the debt, they have my alternative number and also my work and work address. I don't understand how could they hand me over without trying to give me an opportunity to pay the account first or at least inform me about it. 2 years and only then you want to demand money after so long. I am so upset and I need my name cleared.
