Telkom for life - because you can't cancel your line.
I've been trying to confirm the cancellation of my Telkom account since 29/10/2013. I originally went into a Telkom branch (Cape Gate) to be told I can only cancel my account over the phone. Phoned 10210 (held on for 12 minutes) only to be told their system was down and that I have to send an email with my request and id to [Email Removed] This I did 9 times in a 2 week period. I also emailed [Email Removed] 4 times - note that's hp for Hello Peter. I have read receipts for all the mails.
I phone Telkom again last week to find out if they received my emails and could they confirm if my line was in fact cancelled. They told me I must do it over the phone and I must give them 30 days notice. The operator could still not confirm if my line would be cancelled and said I would receive a call from them to confirm the cancellation. Surprise, surpise guest what - nothing.
And more emails to [Email Removed] and [Email Removed] - all delivered and no reply.
