My husband and I have been a Cell C customer for many years. I recently moved my bank account from ABSA to FNB. Cell C was advised that we would be paying via EFT. They have however continuted presenting the debit order to my ABSA account, which was closed.By doing this they are now requesting (or should I rather say demanding) that we pay a cost of R70 because the debit order was returned. My payments are made by the 25/26 of each month, to ensure they receive it by the 1st (when the payment is due). After numerous calls to them they have still failed to sort this out. They have in the meantime suspended the service of my husbands cell. My question is: 1. Are we responsible to pay costs for incompetent people not doing their jobs? 2. Even though we have NEVER EVER been in arrears on our accounts, are services are suspended for charges that are charged because of people not doing what they are paid to do? 3. Do the staff of Cell C go on training on how to be rude, unhelpfull to their customers? Surely the returned debit order will record "Account closed", so why does the debit order continuously be submitted. Shocking service...
