Today I visited the Vodacom store in Century City, Cape Town with the purpose of cancelling my contract which expires next month, December 2013. To my utter amazement, I was informed by a consultant that my request is unable to be completed on the basis that my contract had already been upgraded on the 08th November 2013. The consultant was unable to provide me with the relevant information as to where the upgrade had taken place or the details of the new contract. In my opinion, I am not too sure if Vodacom employs monkeys, however, if this is the case, then I presume they are compensated in the form of peanuts and bananas. The best assistance they offered was to escalate the issue and process a service request, filing an investigation as to the unauthorized upgrade. I contacted the Vodacom call centre seeking further assistance, only to be only further disappointed by their customer obsession. No valuable assistance was offered and I was merely given the brush aside attitude and told to wait for the investigation, feedback which could take a month or longer. Until then, I am basically forced to continue paying for a contract which was upgraded.
