Billing After Cancellation

I requested a full settlement amount of my account as I wasn't using it. The account comprised of an iPad and 2Gigs of data totalling R459.00 per month.

Upon my request, a guy named Rudolph and a lady named Melissa helped me both telephonic and over email. After which, this was the correspondence directly related to my request:

"Hi Melissa,

As mentioned in my email, I am willing to do so. I merely require the exact amount to do so. Please ensure my debit order is cancelled as well. Don't want to duplicate any payments.

Thank you for the response.

The fee quoted of R1448.00 is the exact amount needed to cancel the contract and as mentioned in my email needs to be paid in order for me to load the request. Without proof of payment for the amount the request will be declined.

Please provide the proof of payment as soon as possible."
This amount was, according to Rudolph, MORE than what it would cost to just let the contract run out. I sent my POP and they are still trying to bill me for another invoice. And they aren't following through. Rediculously absurd service.
