I recently renewed the contract for my daughter, and in doing so moved from a Talk 135 to a Talk 99, but it is a more costly contract due to the phone associated with it. When I activated the contract, Vodacom just removed her accumulated airtime of R 500. I queried this with the call center and was told that this is standard practice and someone should have explained it to me. Bu the entire contract renewal was done online without speaking to anyone. The call center promised to investigate and come back to me - of course this did not happen either. In my view this is illegal consumer, even if it had been explained to me.
