I have changed my MTN contract into prepaid because after about 15 years I am porting my number to a different service provider as a result of their horrific service the past year.
My iPad was on a dual sim linked to my phone sim. The moment my contract was changed to prepaid, the data stopped functioning on my phone, but was functioning on my iPad.
I also have a separate contract on a separate sim that I use for my data on my laptop.
My request was simple, please link my sim on my iPad to the sim in my laptop, i.e. a dual sim. Also, restore the data on my phone sim.
In the end the sim in my iPad was cancelled/scrapped and I was told I have to buy a new one. Then I was told, after the previous problem that I cannot link my iPad and laptop sims. Huh? Also, they cannot activate my data and I have to phone the helpline. After going through the menus for about 20 minutes, I gave up.
Even though the two people involved were friendly, shoddy and clueless service. Exactly why I am moving to a new service provider.
