I recently moved into a flat in Scarlet Park, a new development in Rooihuiskraal North.
One of the main reasons I decided to rent was because the unit was advertised as having a state of the art fibre network and broadband service. So on wednesday the 16th of October 2013 I received an email with my sign-on details etc. and on the 17th a technician was at my unit to connect all the hardware and setup the wireless router, etc. I was subscribing to the 4mbps uncapped/shaped service..
I connected wirelessly and all was perfect until the fun started. The short of it is, a week later I cancelled my brand new subscribtion.
The wireless on the router (remotely managed by atec) kept on losing it's settings. The support staff do not know the diiference between latency and speed on a line. The latency at some point was so bad (245ms) I could not even get logged on to a game server.
The worst part is that Atec and it's support staff made NO effort to resolve the issue and kept on replying with lame excuses and explanations. When I cancelled the service they did not even attempt to keep me as a customer. Why? Because I have no other option and they know it!! ICASA will get my complaint.
