Billing me for aContract that i dident renew

After my contract ended with 8ta i phoned them and ask if they could renew my contract and get a new phone. The consultant told me to go to the nearest 8ta store and do it there. I told him that there were no stores here in this town and that somebody sold the phone and contract to me telephonicly and they sent the package to me with a courier. The consultant wasn't able to help me so itold him to rather terminate the contract then that wasn't a problem at the time. After a couple of months now there are debt collectors and lawyers contacting me and telling me that the account was handed over for a amount of R590.30 for services that i didn't use. After phoning 8ta a lady told me that i have to write a letter to cancel the contract and to pay the arrears amount. how can i pay this if i didn't use the services and wasn't even invoiced for. I am very disappointed once again.
