I was phoned yesterday by a Lady, who wanted to sell a contract to me. I am afraid because she had most of my detail, and I am not a costumer of the service provider she mentioned.
I am a very loyal Vodacom costumer. How can you allow people to phone me and sell contracts over the phone!
She wanted my physical address to deliver the phone. I misunderstood her about what the phone call was about an I thought I won a phone, so I provided my address. She wanted to know what my salary was and wanted to know when the debit order could go off. Just to test her I said the 3rd of each month, and she said no, the 1st is better for her.
She made a disturbing comment, that she understands that I must feel uncomfortable to do this over the phone, it is better and quicker.
I told this lady that I am a Vodacom costumer, and she said "No its fine, we can transfer the befits from supplier X to Vodacom"
I am just concerned for this lady had most of my detail and how safe are you keeping my details.
If this is a trend for Vodacom to sell this type of important contracts over the phone, this could cause big problems for!!!
Criminals could use this type of trend!!!
