Telkom
LISTED ON TRANS UNION

Sept 2011, I cancelled a 24month ADSL contract. Jan 2013, Telkom decides to bill me for it. April 2013, they list this as bad debt written off. Which is not true. The whole problem was communication. I am not a bad payer. In June I got an sms from the lawyers warning me. I got such a shock. I then paid the amount Telkom says I owed them, and I had to pay the lawyers over R500. Please note the amount in question was only R1055.

My problem now is I can not even get a cellphone contract, nor a clothing account because of this listing under Default. They did not write off the debt, they are lying! I had no warnings, no letters, no monthly statement. 2 calls at the beginning of the year, that's it.

I have paid all my dues, and I want this removed from the credit buro.
Please also note that 16 months went by for Telkom to bill me! How is this right?
They also had my address as my old Cape Town address, and my service was in Benoni, Gauteng. They couldn't even get that right.
