Cellphone contracts due an upgrade, not renewing with current service provider due to a history of bad service, thus seeking an alternative service with a company with good reputation & service, VODACOM. Right? WRONG.
Applied for 2 iPhone contracts online. Sales rep called to confirm my details for a credit check to have the iPhone contracts applied for validated & approved. Minutes later, informed that my application for 2 iPhone contracts was approved. Happy to proceed, was then told that I was not approved to use an iPhone device, eventhough approval for an iPhone contract was just confirmed! Was then offered alternative cellphones on the same contract. I then posed the question "am I not elite enough to use an iPhone? " upon which the sales rep answered "IT COMES DOWN TO SOMETHING LIKE THAT." How may VODACOM offer a contract with an iPhone, approve my application then change the cellphone because I do not meet an "elite" social status? This is PATHETIC and BLATANT discrimination!
Apart from this shock, I also realised the sales rep attended to more than 1 call at the present time & sounded disorientated regarding our conversation.
A leading service provider? I wonder how.
