UNABLE TO PERFORM SIM SWOP

My problem all started when I had ordered a phone with VODACOM online about a week or so ago. I used my reference number the day after and called in to the call centre spoke a woman from sales. Confirmed all my details and at the end of the call she asked me would you like to keep an existing cell number that you currently have (SIM SWOP). I SAID YES!!! And she had captured the number (0769681084) successfully. I called in a day or two later to verify my order and spoke to a guy who verified my details. The whole purpose of getting the new phone was to use my current number. It's pointless for me to have a new number. Almost a week later I finally received my phone. Called in to the call centre on 25/09/2013 in the morning and was advised that they would activate my sim but to my surprise the guy advises me that they will NOT be able to do a sim swop for me and asks me if I had advised the initial sales agent that I would like to perform a swop he then advises that he will escalate so that an investigation can be performed and so that they go through the call recordings. So does it take 3 days to go through call recordings? Am I supposed to wait until the end of time for Vodacom
