6 days ago, my Telkom fixed line and ADSL went down..
So here's the story:
Sunday (Day 1) call the fault reporting line from my mobile 3 times. Wait between 10 and 15 minutes listening to the Telkom voice message system telling me to wait for the first available operator. Give up.
Monday (Day 2) call 10210 again; fortunately after 5 minutes, an operator responds, I am able to log the fault. I get an SMS telling me so.
Tuesday (Day 3) call three times... wait wait wait... no luck, but then again, its a public holiday & its a state owned company.
Wed (day 4) Call 10210, get through after a few attempts; angrily ask for update; there is none; ask to escalate the issue -can I talk to a manager? No they tell me, but they will 'escalate it'..How much longer must I wait, I ask??? I get dissed by the operator - "dont you know it takes up to 6 days".
Thurs (day 5) - call 10210, get through after a few minutes. Great. Told that it should be repaired by tomorrow!
Fri (day 6) - still not working at 1 pm. Call 10210. I'm very relaxed now. I realise its time to give up the fight and find an alternate service provider -not an easy thing in RSA...
