I am due for an upgrade and was informed about it via sms. I went to MTN Kolonade to enquire about it. I went there and they were out of stock on the package i wanted (Samsung Galaxy note 2 and Tablet 10.1 for R599-00). I asked them to see if I qualify and what the price will be and if I will loose my current airtime. The salesman phoned me and informed me that I do qualify and that I wont forfeit my airtime. They than ordered the package. On Thursday I received an sms that I can come in to upgrade because it arrived. On my aarival my nightmare started as I was informed I must pay R105 for upgrade and R139 for a new sim card. I asked them to show me where this was written. The manager informed me to read the back of the booklet as it is stated there in their T and C, s. It was not stipulated there. Then after about half an hour of him explaining i was informed that I was on another package and that I will forfeit my airtime and that the contract will now be R649-00 pm. This was after I asked them to check if I qualify. This was my third time going back to this store. This was an embarrassing episode for me as a loyal MTN customer. I won't encourage people to use MTN
