MTN CANNOT BLACKLIST MY PHONE

Beware all you MTN contract clients using passports as your I.D and the MTN diabolic standards used unto you when you lose your treasured expensive phone.

My Nokia Lumia 920 was lost on (12/09/2013) at my regular car wash. On 13/09/2013 i called MTN customer services (808) REF # 104026344 to humbly request my phone to be blacklisted and possibly tracked. i was thrown from one office to another and eventually advised to visit my nearest branch. This was after an hour long exercise. On 17/09/2013 i went to MTN Menlyn branch and registered my request. Another 45minutes exercise, office to office and was eventually told that they cannot blacklist or track my phone because i am using my passport as my I.D. That facility works only for those with R.S.A identity cards.
With anger in my veins, i asked for contract cancellation forms only to be told they cannot download forms online. i must again contact MTN call centre AGAIN.
Now i have to pay R400 MTN monthly instalment x 24 months excluding insurance for an upmarket phone with tracking device features. DAY LIGHT .
- Why segregate your customers? (Passports vs R.S.A IDs) & why not reveal this CRUCIAL info from the word go.
