Horrible network coverage

If I though I had bad coverage whilst using a blackberry I was in for a rude awakening when I switched to an iPhone. Don't get me wrong, I love my iPhone and I love my iPhone apps (all the same on my iPad which has a Vodacom network coverage), there is nothing wrong with my iPhone, I went over to the iPhone because of my satisfaction with my iPad. But lets get one thing clear, I have more success getting connected to my apps on the iPad than on the iPhone that seems to get majority Edge reception and that doesn't give you the freedom of whatsapp'ing, facebook'ing, internet surfing, getting fashion advice from pinterest, and I can go on and on here but I'm sure we are all getting the BIG picture here. I mean seriously, waiting an hour plus between whatsapp chats, with a friend in a boyfriend crisis and I can't calm her down, cause I can't get connected to reply! Oh and not to mention being halfway through downloading my emails waiting for the most urgent one to pop into my inbox (this one needing an immediate response in writing), to be timed out because the server can't connect COS THERE IS NO PROPER NETWORK CONNECTION. Seriously MTN! this is ridiculous!
