Why not to signup via call centre

I decided after 15 years of only using prepaid to signup for my first ever contract for a promo contract with Vodacom.
The online ad says I will receive it following day if I order before midday. GREAT!
Thur morn - Submit online form on Vodacom website. Great!
Thur morn - Receive call from Angelo to signup. Contract is sealed with "I accept". Great!
Thur noon - Receive call from Angelo apologising for "forgetting something". He can arrange for simswap if I buy ANY simcard at ANY shop and that he will call me the next day. So I buy a simcard for 99c. Great!
Fri noon - Angelo does not call. So I call him myself - twice. The 2nd agent (1st agent dropped call) says Angelo is off. They can't help me because I am *his* call. Says I should call back Saturday. NOT great!
Sat noon - Angelo does not call again. So I call him - he says he can do the sim swap - data should be available in 30 mins. Call back 2 hours later - no data on card. Call Angelo - he says that it will be activated Monday only. NOT great!
Mon morn - Angelo not available so agent says I must call activation dept. - Activation dept says I have incorrect simcard. They will post new card to me within 2-3 days. NOT great!!!
