I was due for an upgrade of my cellular contract in Dec. I put my name on waiting list for iPhone 5 at longbeach mall MTN branch. After having had no feedback for several weeks, I went to store again, and was told that the iPhone stock will only arrive in march. I decided to contact MTN direct and upgraded my contract telephonically. My phone was delivered on Monday, 20 jan, with a new SIM card. I was instructed to call the no on the box and folly voice prompt to activate sim, which failed. I spent several hours calling various MTN help lines only to be told that I needed to visit any MTN branch to do a sim swap. All I needed to take was my ID, since I have already submitted all other documentation. I went back to longbeach branch, where I was rudely told that I needed an affidavit stating that the phone wasn't even though I had all the paperwork with me, including copy of co tract. This is ridiculous. Especially since I've been an MTN client for 12 years! It is now 25 jan and I can still not use my phone.
