Vodacom - a service provider?

I am a pay-as-you-go customer. My airtime was being depleted without authentic usage. Being unemployed, I monitor usage very carefully. I immediately contacted Vodacom, my service provider, to establish why this was occurring. Vodacom took no responsibility. They provided me with WASPA's (Wireless Application Service Providers' Association) contact number to request to be unsubscribed from 'the service', the type of which is unknown to me and furthermore I am completely unaware of how I became a subscriber in the first place. Vodacom is aware of this 'sly thievery' on the part of the unidentified organisation, for all I know it could be Vodacom themselves, since the Vodacom agent to whom I reported the issue informed I was not the first to lodge such a complaint. I was not offered assistance other than a follow-up call from Vodacom to obtain information from me on the outcome of the undetermined subscription / service to help Vodacom with their investigation. Is this what is referred to as SERVICE?
