Number Porting nightmare

My mom purchased a new contract for me with Vodacom which I am paying. On the same day of doing the application and it being approved I asked for my number to be ported. I was sent an sms which contained a PIN. Shortly afterward I received another sms saying that the port has been approved. The phone arrived on Friday (application was approved on Wednesday) with a micro sim but with a Vodacom number. I called Vodacom from my 083 number (incurring normal cell rates) only to be told that it will be done. I called again the Saturday only this time to be told that I needed to fill in forms.By this time I was FURIOUS as I was transferred to various people of whom none could help. So today I called again and was told that someone would call me within 15min. It's almost 2 hours later and no call. I am still using 2 phones which I find totally ridiculous and inconvenient. Can it be so difficult just to have my number ported? It either can or can't be done. Which one is it? This is my first encounter with Vodacom and already I am regretting making the move.
