Incompetent service

I am being billed for a contract that iv long paid up. I even received itemised billing with a zero amount but now they say I owe R900 and the matter has been handed over to lawyers and without even notifying me.
iv tried on numerous occasions to call them, no one is able to assist me or explain how I owe them when im now on pre paid.
