At the end of July I upgraded my phone. I chose to go for the Galaxy S4 on the Straight Up 100, which is supposed to come with 100 minutes, 100 SMS and 1GB Data. When I did the upgrade I was informed that I will only get 100MB per month until 1 October (contract anniversary) and thereafter I will get the full 1GB per month. I was not happy, but accepted it, knowing that Cell C's out of bundle rate is 15c per MB. I was mortified today, when I saw how high my usage was due to me being charged 99c per MB. This was not communicated to me when I did the upgrade, nor is it in any of Cell C's promotional material. I find that this is a cheap blow and Cell C needs to credit my account and recalculate at 15c per MB. Upon calling the Cell C call centre and being sent from pillar to post and having to verify and reverify myself, I was told that I need to head to the branch, this in itself is also extremely poor service.
