Dear Peter, I recently again had a very bad experience with Vodacom. I started experiencing problems with my Blackberry 8520. I went to Vodacom where I was told the charger is faulty and I have to buy a new charger. For a week or two the new charger worked when again I started experiencing problems charging of the battery. One night while trying to get the charger to work the entire charging point inside the phone detached & came out.. I went back to Vocadom to complain about this, where I was told by very unfriendly & unhelpful staff: "Sorry to hear about your problem, not our mistake. You will have to book the phone in for repairs". I took the phone to the Customer Care in Main Road Cape Town, where they book the phone, checked it & advised that they must send the phone to JNB. About a week later JNB advised they cannot fix the phone & I have to pay R850 for a replacement phone. The end of the story is a phone shop around the corner of me could fix the phone for R220!! Not to mention the Vodacom tells about their great reception anywhere, I don't have reception where I live in the city... They are a & to us pretending to the best network!! Bwhaha, what a joke!
