Terrible service & trouble getting my phone repai

I have been trying the Vodacom Repair shop at Liberty mall all day and no one seems to answer the phone. I took my phone to get repaired last week and was told that it shouldn't take long as a strip that joined the keypad to the phone had to be replaced. I now find out that it is in Midrand still waiting to be assessed! its been a week already and all my phone has been doing is travelling. I called a technician at the branch yesterday and he said they diagnosed it as water damage and because I don't have insurance that they cannot fix it, a fault I've heard a lot of people complaining that Vodacom uses. my phone is only 5 months old! can I rather get my phone back and fix it privately even though I will lose my warranty? how can I get my phone back asap? didn't expect Vodacom to be so slack
