Phone damaged within second month

I got my samsung galaxy s4 at the end of july on a top up 315 contract with vodacom and it wont switch on over night..sent it to vodacare cresta and was told id get it back within 24 to 48 hours because it was apparently a software or battery problem but now they sent it back to the manufacturer because they cant fix the problem..I'm very disappointed with this since my phone is practically new and now it has to get repaired
