I submitted a request to upgrade my cellphone on the 28th of July. Shortly afterwards I was contacted by a Consultant to confirm my selection. I enquired with the Consultant regarding the data packages and was informed that 1 GIG of data is R 79.00 per month - and - that I should phone 808 once the phone is delivered for the once off activation thereof.

Once the cellphone was delivered I phoned 808 - to my surprize, I was then informed that 1 GIG is now suddenly R 169 and above all, "should MTN decide to increase the pricing, you agree to pay the increased amount".

1. Since when is this allowed or legal?
2. Since when is it okay to provide someone with false information?

I subsequently requested to speak to a Supervisor and was informed that there is no manager. To my surprize again, I was later informed that Yongama is the Supervisor and Masilo the Manager - again - false information provided??

To make things better - 14 days later, I am still awaiting a call from Yongama and Masilo and in the meantime, I have paid a vast amount to data.

How is this fair?!?!?!?!

CPA was established for this!! Let's see what they have to say about this misconduct.
