False or lack of proper information

MTN notify me that I can come in for phone update. After signing contract no device available. Two days later received device only to find out at this stage I will have to do a sim swop which will cost me R135. Pay the amount update went through. Received SMS which confirmed that 150Mb date was successfully loaded. Start setting up my phone. Since it is a smart phone I have to update basically everything making use of data via internet. Only to discover 3 days later all my money, which I had reserved, are disapearing. After 4 visits to various MTN outlets and consultants. ( over period of 4 days) MTN says that my new update only kicks in on the 13th of August. I feel they they have mislead me. Make me use the phone at out of contract rates which emptied all my "savings" In total I saw 6 differant consultants and everyone has a differant explanation without a proper solution. Please advise
