Hello,
I was ecstatic when, on the 2nd of August, I saw that i was due for an upgrade on the vodacom website. I upgraded online, and duly received my phone yesterday with a micro sim. On inserting the sim, I realized the phone does not read the sim. On calling the call centre i was told that the sim is only due for upgrading on the 31st of August. If i want to do the migration now, I will have to pay out of contract fees and i will have to pay for the sim swop because i am moving from black berry talk 500 package to a smart medium package.
I fail to understand how i can be due for an upgrade, be given a phone and then not be allowed to use the phone for the next 3 weeks. Unless, of course i am prepared to pay more - a lot more.
What is the point of giving me a handset if my contract is not upgraded at the same time? I was told that migrations are done automatically at the end of each month? Really? Vodacom is run by a computer? What happened to pro-rata usage? I was told i qualified for an upgrade, i took up the option, i expect to be able to use my phone when i receive it,
All i can say is that i am being held to ransom because I am "upgrading" to a lesser option.
