Nothing changed in eight years

About 8 years ago I cancelled my Telkom land-line and ADSL as a result of poor service. I vowed to myself to never do business with Telkom again.

Unfortunately, where I live now (hard to believe in the middle of Gauteng), the 3G reception is poor to non existent and iBurst and Neotel also has poor coverage there.

A couple of colleagues at work told me that Telkom got their act together over the past couple of years and that I can try again. I placed my order for the Telkom Simple Uncapped installation on Wed 31 Jul and was quite impressed with the assistance I got when placing the order. I also got 2 sms's straight after that and a phone call the next day (1 Aug) from someone to confirm all my details and telling me that my order is being processed and that the installation would be done 0n 6 Aug. I was told that the tech would call me before the installation.

At 15:00 on the 6th of Aug I phoned 10210 to get the status and was told that the installation is scheduled for the 12th of Aug.

I am extremely concerned now about my decision to do business with Telkom again and contemplating cancelling the order because if this is how it starts, I'm worried about future service.
